Blacklists

What are email blacklists?

There are over 100 different "blacklist" services that aim to reduce email spam. The idea is, if a domain or IP address sends spam messages, a recipient can notify a blacklist service (also known as DNSBL, RBL, or Realtime Blacklist), and the guilty domain or IP is added. Then mail servers can check against the list of "bad" domains or IPs, and choose not to deliver their messages.

Basically, being on a blacklist can hurt your deliverability rates.
